DFAF was set up to continue the work Dr. Funmi Alakija started and to further her vision
for improved primary healthcare services in Nigeria that compete with global standards. The Foundation has been formed to implement her work and ideas,
especially in the area of medical care for the less privileged.
Her life’s work focused on developing innovative approaches to delivering health services to the needy, and raising the standards of healthcare services in Nigeria.
After a few years of working in the public service, Dr. Alakija began her first foray into independent work through a partnership in Victoria Island - Apex Family Clinic. Thereafter, Dr Alakija established Q-Life Family clinic in 2000. The Q-Life Family Clinic grew from its humble beginnings on Bishop Aboyade Close, Victoria Island, to becoming one of the leading family care providers in Lagos State. Today, the Clinic is thriving and living out the vision off its founder - to serve as a partner in promoting health and quality life. It is currently located at Plot 155A, Prince Ade Odedina Street, Victoria Island.
